Emergency Care

Emergency vet services are a fundamental cornerstone of our commitment to comprehensive pet care. Accidents and illness happen when you least expect it, and that is when you need a trained veterinary staff ready and able to help.

Emergency care is available at all three SCVG locations during regular business hours.

If your pet is in need of urgent care please call one of our hospitals directly so that we can offer instruction and prepare for your arrival. In some cases, we may refer you to an alternate 24-hour emergency care facility.

Our animal hospitals are staffed with highly experienced, dedicated veterinarians and support staff capable of providing trauma and critical care for accidents, injuries and illnesses of all types. Our staff is equipped to manage the medical care of our pet patients and to help our clients through stressful and potentially life-threatening situations. We will work with our clients to make sure you have a good understanding of your pet's condition and what steps should be taken to provide the best care options.

The veterinary team at Southern California Veterinary Group of the Inland Empire is near to you, here for you, and ready to help you and your pet in any way we can.

We are Ready for Emergency Care

Our facilities are staffed and equipped to respond to most emergency medical or surgical needs. From as simple as a bee sting to severe trauma, our staff is prepared to care for your pet and help you through this stressful time.

We strive to provide our patients' human companions with prompt, attentive, compassionate and personal service from the very first moment a patient arrives. This includes establishing a quick, clear line of communication to the primary care veterinarian when possible. We want you to be informed and comforted throughout the process, because we know how important and irreplaceable your beloved family friend is to you and your family.

Our Animal Hospitals are Prepared to Handle Most Critical Situations, Such as:

  • Traumatic injuries - fractures, bites, burns, lacerations
  • Automobile accidents
  • Respiratory emergencies, choking, breathing problems
  • Vomiting, diarrhea
  • Difficulty urinating or defecating
  • Shock or loss of consciousness
  • Seizures
  • Toxic reactions, poison ingestion
  • Labor and pregnancy difficulties
  • Blood in urine or feces
  • Heatstroke
  • Postoperative or post-anesthetic problems
  • Pain management
  • Inability or unwillingness to eat
  • And more...

If possible, please call the hospital prior to bringing in your pet so that we may assess the situation, prepare for your arrival, and offer immediate care instructions, if appropriate. In some cases, we may refer you to an alternate 24-hour emergency care facility.

Financial Concerns

We know that having a pet with emergency medical needs can be stressful. In addition to providing the care needed, we will also work with you to accommodate your financial needs whenever possible. We accept cash, personal checks, debit, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and Care Credit.

We also recommend that you prepare before an emergency happens, and for many pet owners, pet insurance and/or a third party payment plan can be very beneficial. Click here to learn more.

Finding The Nearest After-hours Emergency Clinic

We highly encourage you to determine in advance where the nearest off-hour emergency clinic is located, in the event your SCVG hospital is closed. There are many 24-hour emergency clinics in the Inland Empire, and also some that are open only evenings, weekends and holidays, when regular veterinarians may not be. Here is a short list of emergency clinics near our hospitals, and we recommend you do additional research to determine if there are others located even closer to you.
